My name is Melony Malkin. I'm a senior at the University of Michigan. I'm a senior at the University of Michigan graduating with a Psychology major minors in both Writing and Digital Studies.

Ever since I was a child, I have always looked for ways to understand the actions and feelings of others. In elementary school, when my knowledge of human behavior and motivation was uninformed, I did not question the reasons my peers cried on the playground, were sent to the time-out seat in the classroom, and bullied others. That’s just the way it was. As I moved through middle school and high school, I noticed more and more how those who acted out and behaved in confusing ways were known for exhibiting certain emotions. There was a connection between emotion and behavior. My passion for understanding the complexity of human emotion and the way it affects behavior led me to major in psychology. I wanted to use my capstone project to explore a human emotion that has always intrigued me: fear.
